At Rivalta Rental Cars, we value your safety and peace of mind. The following terms outline our insurance coverage, liability policies, and standard rental conditions in accordance with UAE law and industry best practices.

1. Insurance Terms

All Rivalta vehicles are insured in accordance with UAE regulations. Insurance applies only within the United Arab Emirates and covers authorized drivers listed in the rental agreement.

In Case of an Accident
  • If the renter is at fault, they are responsible for paying the insurance excess amount (as stated in the rental contract) plus 20% of the total repair cost, in addition to the daily rental fee during the repair period.
  • If the renter is not at fault, but a valid police report confirms the other party’s responsibility, the renter is only liable for the daily rental fee during the repair period.
  • In the event of a “total loss,” the renter agrees to pay 20% of the insured vehicle value plus the applicable insurance excess.
Eligibility
  • The renter must hold a valid driving license for at least one year.
  • The minimum age for renting and driving a vehicle is 21 years.
  • Drivers under 21 years or with less than one year of experience may rent at Rivalta’s discretion but will be fully liable for any damage or repair costs.
Driving Under the Influence
  • Insurance coverage becomes void if the driver is found under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any illegal substance.
  • The renter will be held fully responsible for all damages, losses, and legal consequences.
Unreported Damages
  • Any accident or damage not supported by an official police report will make the renter fully liable for the full repair cost and any associated administrative or downtime fees.
Vehicle Care
  • The renter must ensure the vehicle is parked securely when not in use.
  • Damages caused by negligence, misuse, or natural disasters (such as floods, sandstorms, or falling objects) are not covered by insurance and will be the renter’s responsibility.

2. Fines, Salik & Toll Terms

Traffic Violations
  • The renter is responsible for all traffic fines, speeding tickets, and violations incurred during the rental period.
  • Rivalta reserves the right to deduct or claim fines up to one year after the rental ends, as some may be reported late by UAE authorities.
Parking Fees
  • The renter is responsible for all parking fees incurred during the rental period, whether in public or private parking zones.
  • Any unpaid or disputed parking charges that result in fines will be charged to the renter accordingly.
Salik Toll System
  • Each time a vehicle passes through a Salik toll gate, a fee of AED 5 will be applied.
  • These tolls are automatically recorded and billed at the end of the rental period.

3. Rental & Vehicle Conditions

Accident Procedure
    • In the event of an accident, the renter must not move the vehicle until police inspection and reporting are completed.
    • All required documents must be provided to Rivalta promptly.
    • Failure to follow this procedure may result in full liability for all damages.

Vehicle Maintenance & Cleanliness
    • The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as received — clean, in good working order, and with the same fuel level.
    • Cleaning or refueling charges may apply if the vehicle is returned otherwise.

Usage Restrictions
    • Vehicles may not be used for:
      • Off-road or desert driving
      • Racing, drifting, or competitive activities
      • Transporting illegal goods
      • Driving outside UAE borders
    • Any misuse will void insurance and make the renter fully responsible for damages.

Mileage Limits
    • Daily rentals include 250 km per day.
    • Monthly rentals include up to 4,000 km.
    • Additional mileage will be charged at a per-kilometer rate depending on the vehicle category.
Rental Duration & Late Returns
    • One rental day equals 24 hours.
    • Returns delayed by more than one hour incur a full extra day’s charge.
    • Outstanding balances above AED 5,000 may incur a 2% daily interest until settled.
Vehicle Return & Recovery
    • Vehicles must be returned to Rivalta at the agreed time and location.
    • Rivalta reserves the right to retrieve or tow the vehicle at the renter’s expense if it is not returned on time or is used in violation of the rental agreement.
    • The renter may also be charged for any decline in resale value, towing fees, and related legal or administrative costs.
